Best of Opposite Sex at the Shawnee Mission Specialty

I figure you are only going to be blessed with one great dog in a lifetime and I guess Polly is it. She has, by far, passed any and all of my expectations of her. Polly is a big girl and sometimes is mistaken for a boy by some judges, but she has a very pretty face, beautiful front and rear, nice tight feet, lovely coat and tail set, with jet black pigment, full dentition and a nice dark eye color. She thinks that I am the best thing since they invented dog biscuits, and that is great!

Polly was trying for three wins in a row at Westminster but the day before she was leaving for New York she had a horrible accident and ended up in the emergency at the clinic. It took several stitches to put her face back together again. My wonderful vet buried most of the stitches so that she could still go to the show. You see, not only was she going to the Westminster Kennel Club show, but she was scheduled to be on the NBC-TV Today Show on Sunday Morning. Hopefully some of you saw her. I asked the cameramen not to show a full facial view of her. This accident happened on Thursday and we were hoping that the swelling would be down by then. However, she had some hair loss around her eye and we had to deal with that. I think the judge at Westminster liked her, he gave her several good long looks, but she was pretty banged up, and I can understand why he passed her by. However, Polly had quite a "following" with the Westminster crowd and they booed the judge when he didn't consider her for an award. After the judging, back in the benching area, her "followers" saw her up close and then they understood why the judge didn't pick her.

Polly has recovered completely and still has a wonderful attitude and is very willing to please. Her beautiful litter by Ch. Valleywood Vagabond will be in the show ring early next year. We plan on keeping a boy and girl from this litter. Be sure to watch for them! If you want to see them you can click on the "puppies heart" below. If you have any suggestions for names, we kind of like to stick with the fabric theme, you can click on the link below to e-mail us.
